Is it shallow to say your gravelly voice is very sexy?

I appreciated Derek’s comments toward the end about immaturity of understanding gender relations – hetero men being seen as more “masculine”, etc. It reminded me of something I heard once which may at least partially be true – that the basis of such strong homophobia against gay men is based in misogyny.
Thanks for a good discussion – as a gay-ally I confess also struggling with the idea of rejecting a practice which may be harmful to participants vs. tolerance/understanding of alternate choices. Perhaps the worst of it is in the glorification of the practice and holding it up as some kind of “good” choice for anyone. At least they are open about it (in the TV show) and not sneaking around on unknowing spouses. And yes, loads of people all sorts of dating websites are cheating spouses.

Thank you, Derek, for sharing your story! After listening to the episode I looked up Stacey’s voices interview-it was so amazing to hear. I can’t believe how much her experience mirrors my own. As someone who is still not quite to that good place yet, thank you so so much for sharing your experiences. It means so much to me.
